How to get started with creating a resume with REMSYS

Creating a fantastic resume can seem daunting at first, but that's where REMSYS comes in. REMSYS was designed to create and tailor resumes without requiring a lot of effort or time.

Creating an account

Start by signing up on remsys.app with your email address. Follow the instructions sent to your email to quickly set up an account on REMSYS. If you don't find the instructions in your inbox, check your spam folder. Once your account is created, you will be able to start working on a new resume from the dashboard.

Starting with a template

REMSYS provides resume templates so you don't have to start from a blank document. Just pick a resume template that matches your field of study and apply it to your resume. Make sure to import all the sections when applying the template. You will now be able to just update the resume with your personal information.

Entering your information

Based on the common resume structure, REMSYS divides your resume into 5 sections.

  1. About section includes your personal information such as name, address, social media links, etc.
  2. Education section highlights your formal education starting with the most advanced degree.
  3. Experience section highlights your work experience starting with the most recent position.
  4. Additional section highlights other areas such as school projects or research work.
  5. Skills section includes the different types of skills that you have gained through education and work.
  6. Personalization section allows you to customize various aesthetic aspects of your resume without affecting its readability. Learn more about structuring your resume for readability.

Update information for each section and preview your resume to see how the updated information looks on your resume.

Tailoring your resume

As already mentioned, it makes sense to tailor your resume to the job description. As such, REMSYS allows you to quickly select information that you would like to show on any one resume. This greatly reduces the amount of time spent on updating and tailoring resumes for different job applications. In our testing, users can generate tailored resumes in as little as 2 minutes!

Select the information you want to be displayed for your resume and preview how it looks. Once you are satisfied with all the information, give your resume a name and save it to return to dashboard.

Updating your information

REMSYS is unique in its way of updating your stored information. By generating resumes on demand, REMSYS always shows the latest version of your resume. So, when you update your information, you are also updating the resumes that are selected to show that information. However, don't worry about overwriting your information that is displayed by another resume. REMSYS will warn you when you are about to update information that will affect other resumes.

To update your information, edit any resume from the dashboard. Changes made to your information will affect all resumes. You can also add a new field if you don't want to edit a previous field that is used by another resume.

Sharing your resume

REMSYS provides multiple ways to share your resume. Click on the share button from the dashboard to see the following options.

  1. Share on Facebook to share a link to your resume on Facebook.
  2. Share on LinkedIn to share a link to your resume on LinkedIn.
  3. Share on Twitter to share a link to your resume on Twitter.
  4. Share via Email to create an email with a link to your resume.
  5. Copy Link to copy the link to your resume and share it manually.

If you would like to just download the resume, you can use the download option from the dashboard. Keep in mind that if you share a downloaded resume, you lose the ability to track the view count and risk sharing a resume with outdated information. Instead, try sharing the link to your resume so you can track the view count and always show up to date information.
